About

Nakul Sahnan is an impressionist abstract painter working across painting and video. His practice explores memory, perception, and the tension between chaos and stillness, constructing layered emotional landscapes through an intuitive, process-led approach. His work reflects an ongoing inquiry into meaning, presence, and the search for purpose within contemporary life.

I keep coming back to places, people, conversations and memories that replay in my head.

Not as they happened, but as they return.

Fragments of journeys. Faces. Landscapes. Small moments that stay with us for reasons we don't fully understand.

Memories aren't linear. They gather, overlap, fade and resurface. Over time they shape the way we see the world, and perhaps the way we create within it.

Series

Hues of a Landscape

This Collection represents an abstract take on the different hues one sees in a distant landscape. Creating a window into the shades of nature.

Raw Expression

All about expressing raw emotion in the moment. The series consists of abstracts using several contrasting colours over multiple layers creating an image that encourages the mind to wander.

Movement

This series is created using a pouring and scraping technique over several layers. In order to achieve free flowing interweaving contrasting colours.
